Updating custodial parent information

It is possible for a member to provide coverage for dependent children that the member does not have custody of. Since we need to send explanations of benefits and pre-treatment estimate information to the custodial parent, we need a way to store information about the custodial parent.

  1. Locate the member as described in Viewing member information.
  2. Select Update for the desired dependent.
  3. The Update Dependent screen appears. Click Add (if you are adding a custodial parent) or Edit next to Custodial Parent field.
  4. The Custodial Parent Contact Information screen appears. Enter or change information as needed. If you are terminating a current custodial parent, enter the correct Termination Date.
  5. Select Done. The Update Dependent screen appears again. Select Update to save the changes.
